Dear blog readers,
Lots of change going on for me at the moment. I've been having lots of ideas about a new direction for my art and trying out some new things which I am not ready to share just yet. Watch this space...
Also, both the galleries that have been carrying my work are to close. I have been talking to a new galley which i think will be a better fit for me, especially if this new direction of my painting is successful.
Wish me luck!

Saturday 2nd February 2008 - Martha Reed
TSOPA Portrait group TSOPA Portrait group and friends will be meeting at the Living Center. The model with week is Martha Reed. Her store is gone, but "Martha of Taos," purveyor of broomstick skirts for half a century, continues as Martha Reed. She is also the daughter of artist Doel Reed and has been a resident of Taos for 53 Years.
I don't think I've painted anyone quite this elderly before. She was quite the challenge as she kept dropping off to sleep and her care worker would wake her up and try to keep her engaged in conversation - the difficulty being that she is very deaf. Her care worker took her outside for some fresh air and over half an hour later we were wondering if they were going to come back at all. She did return and had taken the opportunity to put on more make up and earrings too.
